Prenatal and Postnatal Flavor Learning by Human Infants

2019-08-13T21:26:22+00:00August 13th, 2019|Media|

Background. Flavors from the mother’s diet during pregnancy are transmitted to amniotic fluid and swallowed by the fetus. Consequently, the types of food eaten by women during pregnancy and, hence, the flavor principles of their culture may be experienced by the infants before their first exposure to solid foods. Some of [...]

Feeding Kids Well

2019-08-13T21:24:21+00:00August 13th, 2019|Media|

By Mark Bittman How the School Nutrition Association became an ally of what you might call the “let them eat cake” forces is a long story. What matters is that if, like the association, you’re taking a stand against the 2010 Healthy, Hunger-Free Kids Act — from a food perspective, among the [...]

2019-08-13T21:22:35+00:00August 13th, 2019|Media|

In light of the increasing prevalence of overweight and obesity in North America among all age groups1, including very [...]

By: Suanne Kowal-Connelly, MD, FAAP Have you ever wondered why it's so difficult to get kids to eat their vegetables? Not wanting to eat broccoli is rooted in a great deal of more complicated issues than just not liking green food. How we come to like certain foods is associated [...]

  • I occasionally get stopped in public when people recognize me from The Noble Path Foundation or the Real Food Forums I do with the schools. While it is always a blast to hear the feedback and appreciation for our cause —spreading awareness on the importance of healthy lifestyle and nutrition choices for our youth— it is even better when I get the chance to witness this mission in action. While shopping in Albertsons today, I noticed a father carefully checking the labels on items in the beverage aisle, while explaining to his young son how some “healthy” looking drinks can actually have as much sugar as a soda. Instances like this truly make my heart sing and give me hope that we can indeed turn the tide on childhood obesity, epidemic numbers of Type 2 diabetes and early death caused by food-induced chronic diseases. Kudos and high-fives to Shawn and his healthy 4-yr old son Max! We love it!!! #healthykids #healthyworld #forkdisease #nourishtoflourish #eatREALfood #TheNoblePathFoundation

  • Regardless of your age or athleticism, body aches and pains are something we’ve all had to deal with at one time or another. My good friend, Jaclyn Kuluris, along with Dr. Michael Whelan, will be holding a special event this Saturday, addressing the issues that often prevent us from living our best life. Knowing @jaclynkuluris, I am putting my stamp of approval on this one and highly recommend you check it out! PERSONAL END RANGE is 4-hour guided workshop that will focus on the importance of mobility, range of motion, how to prevent and manage pain and in general, the how’s and why’s on keeping our bodies healthy! There will be tons of great information (as well as debunking some of the NOT so good information out there) that trainers, coaches, PE teachers, or even the armchair athlete can appreciate and use on a daily. For event info and to purchase tickets, please visit their website at: https://www.personalendrange.com Students can use the PROMO code: Save15 Hope to see you there!! #personalen...

  • We're gearing up for the new school year and are looking for motivated and enthusiastic high schoolers to help spread a message of healthy eating and positive lifestyle choices! Being a part of a Noble Path Foundation High School Club is a fun and meaningful way to make a difference in the lives of their peers --not only in their own schools, but in and around their communities as well. The message and volunteer hours can also compliment those college applications! If you are a high school student, a teacher or parent interested in starting a TNPF Club at your school, please contact Cindi at 949-981-4998 or cindi@thenoblepathfoundation.org. Individually we are one drop, but together we are an OCEAN! #healthykids #healthyworld #forkdisease #nourishtoflourish #foodmatters #TheNoblePathFoundation
